SYMPHONIC STRINGS (ADVANCED
ORCHESTRA - LEVEL2)
Symphonic
Strings are considered Level I advanced musicians who often
are taking private instruction in their chosen
instrument. In the 2009/2010 school year, there
are 41 students participating in this
orchestra.

This orchestra is for the more advanced string
player who should be able to play three
octave scales up to 3 sharps and 3 flats and should be able
to play level IV or V string music. The course helps students
develop technical, ensemble and disciplinary skills necessary
for refined rehearsal and performance. There are five concerts
performed each year and usually 2 or 3 evening rehearsals
before each concert. These rehearsals and concerts are required
as part of the course.
